Leading regional radio staion Tipp FM has launched a new studio on site at The Showgrounds Shopping Centre, Clonmel.  Already a poplular concept in the cities in Ireland, Tipp FM is the first independent radio station to set up a second studio in a shopping centre.

Tipp FM says the new station is a fantastic opportunity for them to get closer to their listeners.  “This is a whole new venture for us and we are delighted with it.  Initially we will broadcast our mid-afternoon show every Saturday from the new studio but it gives us the opportunity to conduct our celebrity interviews here at any time and for the listeners to get to meet them.  It will give listeners more direct contact with the station enabling them to come down and meet presenters and to personally enter compeitions and avail of giveaways. We are absolutely thrillied with this new studio” says Fran Curry, Programme Controller at Tipp FM.

Tipp FM has the second highest listenership figures of any independent radio station in Ireland.  With a daily listenership of almost 65,000 the station is listened to in every home across County Tipperary and has market share of 52.6%.

“We attribute our success to completely devoting ourselves to our local audience. We cover all of the stories and issues that are important to them and provide entertainment that is of interest to them. We refelct what’s happening in the county and through this we have built a very loyal listenership” added Fran Curry.

Showgrounds Shopping Centre Manager Julian Smith is also delighted with the new Tipp FM studio on site.  “The new studio will be a real draw. It will attract more people to the centre as they come to enter competitions and avail of promotions.  It will also add a great atmosphere to the centre.  Our retailers look forward to running joint promotions with the station, it’s a win win situation for both parties” he said.
