Countdown to one month to opening of The Showgrounds on Oct 15th 2009

The people of Clonmel and surrounding areas are eagerly anticipating the opening of new shopping centre The Showgrounds on October 15th 2009.  Former Rose of Tralee Aoife Kelly was on hand at The Showgrounds this week to start the official one month countdown to opening.

The Showgrounds is bringing many new jobs to Clonmel and retailers have started their recruitment drive.  This Thursday 17th September Danish company Bestseller who is opening five fashion stores at the centre will hold a Recruitment Day at the Clonmel Park Hotel from 10am.  Bestseller has approx 30 positions to fill in its stores Jack & Jones, Name It, ONLY, Vila and Mom 2 B.  The positions range from part-time and full-time Sales Assistant roles to Assistant Manager and Store Manager positions.

‘It’s very busy down here at The Showgrounds at the moment with retailers getting ready to open on 15th October – less than one month away. We are delighted that the retailers have started their recruitment and anticipate a great reaction to Bestseller’s Recruitment Day this coming Thursday’ says Julian Smith, Centre Manager, The Showgrounds.

Bestseller is looking forward to meeting potential employees at its Recruitment Day on Thursday. Aisling Lacey of Bestseller says “We are very excited about opening these new stores in Clonmel.  We are holding the Recruitment Day as we have so many different positions to fill in all of our stores.  Ideally we would like to meet the candidates in person at the Recruitment Day or if they can’t make it down to the Clonmel Park they can have their CV dropped in or email it to Linda.goodman(at)bestseller.com.”

Comprising 11,000 sq.m. The Showgrounds will feature 32 retail units and 360 car park spaces.  M&S and Fine Wines are enjoying great success with their stores that are already open.  They look forward to being joined by Pamela Scott, Jack & Jones, ONLY, Name It, Vila, Mom to B, Pulse, First Chapter Books, BBs Coffee & Muffins, Pralibel Belgian Chocolates, Showgrounds Pharmacy, Crunch Food Store and Eddie Rockets on 15th October.
