Happy Halloween! The Queen Of Hearts is playing chess outside Easons here today ! Not sure it's a good idea to beat her....
Time to begin the long goodbye to the 1c & 2c coin. Tomorrow (28th October) sees the start of the Central Bank's 'Rounding' campaign which encourages retailers and consumers alike to 'round up' or 'round down' when buying/selling at the till.
Put simply: if the price ends in 1,2,6,7 you round down (to nearest 5c). If it ends in 3,4,8,9 you round up to the nearest 5c). €9.99, becomes €10 for example and you won't be given any change. €9.96 becomes €9.95 and you'll not pay the extra 1c. This all only applies to cash transactions from tomorrow onwards. It's all voluntary but we think its a good idea.
Got it ? Great!
Have you tried the fiendishly tasty Toffee Apple muffin in BBs yet ? Especially for Halloween, they are 'to die for' !
